Finished up Tekkonkinkreet on Saturday or so, after watching nearly 40min of it the other day.
I would say it’s a masterpiece in dark (it is rated NC16 for violence and whatnot in the latest local screening after all) and abstract ways, if I could, and I’m not all sure I grasped the entire message of the movie, though I’m sure there are hints all over. There seem to be many themes and issues in the movie as well, such as Black&White/Yin&Yang/Innocence-aka-Good&Evil, Globalisation/Urbanisation/whatchamacallit, Retribution, Friendship/Brotherhood, etc. but I’m not a lit student so I wouldn’t expect this to be accurate, nor all of what’s there.
Writing isn’t nearly as good this time. No focus, got distracted T_T and I’m Not A Lit Student. Not many spoilers (for once..), I didn’t really try to summarise any events which take place…
This is the only picture as I can’t be bothered to look for good screenshots.
