全部合格したんですが、うまくできたわけじゃないし、ちょっと残念とか自分からもっと期待したんだ。（ここの文化はちょっとやばくない？＞＿＞）すべてはぎりぎりパスということ・奇跡なんだろうか。SS（日本語で何なのか。）以外ね。それは．．．普通だった。よくできたか、あまりできなかったか、よくわかりません。普通だから。あ、でも前に最初あったのテストに、それは合格したのにうまくできなかった。

問題は私に、よーくわかりますけど。ゼンゼン集中力はありません。去年はちょっとだけ今年より集中できました。習ったことはもっと簡単とか今年はまだまだ集中してがんばって優勝な成績を取れるとか、そんな問題でもいい。でも、自分が変わらないままでこれから続くのはだめでしょ？この大問題、自分を変えればいいじゃない。でも私変わるのはいやだって、少しでもやる気がなくてまだまだ集中できないそうで、プリンセスメーカー５や初恋限定など無駄なことをすると、時間を無駄にする。ほんっとにだめ人間ですね。

I’m not entirely proud of this, but I’ve started to love both Hatsukoi Limited and Princess Maker 5. It’s not like I want to become a full-fledged otaku or something D:

Plus, Hatsukoi Limited is probably the most ecchi non-ero manga out thar, while Princess Maker seems to be something like … just for otakus. It’s like iDOLM@STER, after all. With moe voicing too. Although, I don’t believe it’s an eroge. If it were, orz… JISATSU! |D If this goes on, my pride as the unisexual online fictional entity Demi-otaku would be deeply hurt, as my tendencies are sliding towards 75% otaku more like.

Either way, I refuse to give them up… for now at least. Princess Maker I’ll probably get sick of soon enough, after I’ve beaten the game at least once. Then again I take really long for games. (Which is part of why I usually watch > game. The other reason is.. well, I suck at gaming. OTLOTLOTL unlike somebody.)

Therefore, I shall proceed to justifying my choices. (read: Fanranting Ahead.)

Before that, though, on a random note, Ceiling Cat hath honourably graced our local newspaper… Lolcats were one of the main examples used in a certain newspaper article about the spreading of word online via memes (ITS OVER NINE THOUSAAAAND!!11!!1!!!!!1one!!one1) and uh. YouTube (see the sidebar on the right).

Back to the Topic.

I shall start with Hatsukoi Limited; the most obvious reason to love it is for THE ZOMFGBBQWTH art. No really. Kawashita Mizuki is genius. /worships/ m( _ _ )m Ahem. What I really love are the hair, and the consistently well-done anatomical proportions, and of course the overall style. Plus, the storyline isn’t unbearable or anything like that. In fact, I don’t mind it at all |D After all I liked her other works Lilim Kiss (not so much since it was just a short with a hot guy + hot demon-girl) and Ichigo 100% (though not as much because there was too much harem for the main guy alone fufu) too <:D albeit her series are all usually a bit sitcomish/dramatic with all the love triangles and whatnot. All the characters are very different, even though there are so many ._. But was it just me, or did the Ichigo 100% anime suck? I found it really sad when the manga looked so much better than the anime. Yet it rings true for so many series…

What may pose a problem is that this kind of ecchi romance/comedy series tends to stray from the romance aspect and go to extremes in the ecchi aspect at many times. And if you know what I mean, the skirts are always extremely short and when the wind blows, several times it is shown and there are such things as slightly unrealistic bulges at the chest area of some girls. Plus the swimming part only makes it worse, though I have pretty much mastered the skill of ignoring the ecchi and only looking at the pretty, or so I believe.

God, and they’re selling ero-doujin for the mizugi-wearing meganekko already.

Nevertheless, I do so love the Hatsukoi Limited manga. More eyecandy art:

As for Princess Maker 5, I’d resurfaced an ancient fandom/addiction a few weeks ago when I downloaded Princess Maker 2, English-translated, to play on DOSBox on the computer. MS-DOS Games are so outdated now that I was surprised Vista could even play it, albeit with a little help from the nice guys at DOSBox.

Hence when I finally got my hands on the latest (released last year apparently) version of Princess Maker, I was pretty eager to see how it was like. There’s a PV on YouTube here. For the Gainax fans (are there any really?!), this is one of their many works, in collaboration with CyberFront. I don’t mind the voicing, with the 10-year-old Ojou-sama done by Satou Rina (Kiyoh from TTGL, Negi from the first Mahou Sensei Negima anime adaptation and Haruka from Minami-ke LOL). Cube, the butler, is now able to change form into a dog (less conspicuous it would seem) and the series is set in Modern Japan! Plus for the first time, female players can now be an Okaa-san without the usual trouble of pregnancy. Obviously the male players can still be Otou-san, according to the age-old tradition.

I absolutely love the art, except the Ojou-sama happens to almost always have this babyish look on her face because of her reddened cheeks (which are still cute, but sometimes make her look too vulnerable for a freaking 10-year-old. I mean, whut happen to puberty!!!!11!1!one). Ahwell puberty will definitely be on its way to make her a delinquent right about…..now…

Now even I thought that there’d be no way of fitting in the RPG-Battling that went on since PM2 at least, they have apparently found a way. Now begone with you and let me find out how, I’m still in the earlier stages of the game.

EDIT: I’ve been playing Princess Maker 5 every day since then, and I’m not that proud of this fact but I do look forward to it everyday after a looooong day of school and Japanese lessons and other after-school activities. Friggin’ Slavedrivers won’t let us rest much even after MYAs |D although maybe it’s just wishful thinking and me asking for too much, in a large sense.

More importantly I found out that Okamura Akemi voices Cube the butler in Princess Maker 5! orz I’m so slow. I didn’t recognise her voice even when I’ve heard her in her roles in One Piece as Nami (I have caught up to this series which is 48915814121374 episodes long, hello?) and in Lovely Complex as Koizumi Risa, the Amazon. Speaking of which I haven’t finished the Lovely Complex anime. Che.

Also, I keep screwing up the choices OTL plus I have barely any strategy in my gameplay. They’ve introduced the villains/adventuring after she became a chuugakusei, but I am $2132473801234321.40 in debt due to the magic book ahahah |D sigh I will never make a good Otousan/Okaasan/WHICH-IS-IT-IF-I’M-A-FICTIONAL-ONLINE-ENTITY?!*

ーじゃないなぁ。OTL だってガンダム００じゃないもん。つめてー冗談悪かったが、試験がやっと終わった！うれしすぎて何でもできるような気がしています。何よりもうれしい。

…と言っても、受験の結果はすぐにわかります。それが大変心配させる（ｓｐ？）ことです。自分がよくできなかった、そんなことはダレよりもわかるはずだからです。

まぁ、今は心配しても何も変えられないし、まぁいいか。
最近日本語でポストしていないんでしょう。受験だったんです。日本語のも、学校の「普通」の科目も。科学とか英語とかさぁ。いろいろ忙しかった。
ね、いつかまた日本へ行きたいんです。友達とちょっと相談してたんだけど、未来は私たちにとってまだまだ知らないことばっかりのはずです。それでも、「十八歳のとき一緒に二人とか三人とか四人の友達で日本へ行くのはいいでしょう」と思ってました。約束とはちょっと違うんだけど、期待している…かな。もちろん本当にできるのはすごい喜んでると思うんだが、絶望先生のような私には「未来は知らないまま　約束なんてなんだか無理・約束しないほうがいい」って相談のときずっと思っていました。残念だけど、私はこんなにいつもいつも場かのように考えているものなんです。自分のこともなんだかかわいそうと思うことがあるよ。時々より、しないのは珍しいといわれても…「本当だかもなぁ」って。

So. I just caught the first subbed episode of Library War, aka Toshokan Sensou, by TSHNN. (Unusual acronyms :D)

Animation was definitely up-to-standard or even better, I can safely tell you so. As expected of Production I.G.

I really loved the dynamics (is this what you call it?) introduced in the first episode… They have that ‘that guy’s a chibi’ and ‘that girl’s amazonian’ thing (sounds familiar?) going on while not entirely making that pairing canon (thank goodness, in a sense), which calls for a large serving of winsome? hilarious comedy. Then again there’s some angst and uh.. I don’t know what to call it. Emotional scenes? Well they were… interesting. The character dynamics actually make the whole thing interesting.

The only iffy thing, I think, is the fundamental storyline.. the War part. I mean yeah, the concept’s been used in novels like Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (which I unfortunately gave up reading because of a misplaced interest and attention span), but the main problem seems to be the way that the Media Improvement/Enhancement/whatever guys are portrayed - as unreasonable assholes who go around stealing books from little kids just to spite the Library Corps. Which I find quite pathetic. After all there IS some reason behind ‘controlling’ the media. Just look at media violence and explicit content for one. All I’m asking for is a more intelligent actual opposition. :\ Then again this is just the first episode and I have barely sneaked a peek at the RAWs for the episodes that are out already.

For those interested in the original novel, a search came up with this, but I’m not sure if it’s from some adaptation in the form of manga, or the novel covers… I imagine the plot would be thicker in the novel, though?

On another note I caught 1 episode of Monochrome Factor (so. freaking. GAY agh WHY), 20 seconds of Junjou Romantica, 2 episodes of Kyou Kara Maou (since I’d watched part of the first season and sat through the mediocre animation) and 1 episode of Amatsuki (not much fujoshi content here fyi), before dropping them all.

Aside from Amatsuki, TOO MUCH FUJOSHI-CATERED FANSERVICE. Please, my eyes. orz And I’d thought that the likes of Akira (from Monochrome plz) wouldn’t succumb to a complete stranger of a girly-gay guy (nearly a trap, but nooo the voice is the gay-guy kind). And I was thinking I’d find at least a bit of literary depth in them BL titles since there was any at all in Bleach and D.gray-man, but nooo I find that my hopes have been dashed.

—Then again I’m not a fujoshi. I’m a unisexual fictional online entity. Who knows what fujoshi actually do when they catch even a hint of fluff which can be used as the basis for an approved pairing? Hm, though I do happen to have a few names coming to mind when I think fujoshi…

I must thank a certain fujoshi for enlightening me on the meaning of this; after all, anything Mandarin is usually alienspeak to me: “天下为攻，世界大同”

…I haven’t really encountered any yuri fanboys/girls. Very much thankfully.

So Far, at least. Just a [very short] hm… rant.

….Also, I need to learn to focus when I write |D I seriously don’t happen to have any talent for any kind of writing D: Ahwell that’s not the point of this.

There have been quite a few interesting titles which have come out for the 2008 Spring Anime Season, such as Soul Eater, Kure-nai, Wagaya no Oinari-sama, Kanokon, Tower of Druaga, Vampire Knight etc. Some look/sound even more interesting, but these are all of the series that I have been able to roughly have an idea/watched at least one episode, you could say…

For series like Code Geass R2, Kite Liberator, Toshokan Sensou/Library Wars are all very attractive but this whole year has been kinda busy and getting busier, plus for Geass I have yet to complete the first season, considering my bad habit of not properly completing things and on time. As for Special A, Junjou Romantica, To-Love-Ru, Da Capo II they all aren’t really my type (harem/reverse harem/yaoi?!). Out of all the titles I think about half of them have blatant fanservice for either the guys or girls and solely depend on that to get a fanbase/earn their moneys. bwbs and bishi season

My favourite was Tower of Druaga for its epic first-episode parody-comedy thing, even if it wasn’t real and the second episode quickly reverts back to almost-100%-complete GONZO crap. Neeba has Sasuke hair LOLXORZ Well it was good while it lasted, and they actually take the effort to change the girl’s outfit in the OP. That’s.. nice of them. Spices up whatever. Yeah.

My second-favourite for now is Soul Eater even though the story/direction is pretty much utter rubbish, since the animation by BONES is win - Think FMA and Ouran :D I’m waiting to see how Death the Kid is (voiced by Miyano Mamoru, I’m not even sure if this suits the character), how much longer it’ll take before I drop this for its story and voicing (and generally pointless fanservice), and how different the Late Show thing they planned would actually turn out. Personally I find it to be interesting, but it could also be said to be a waste of airtime since for now little/no significant change has been detected with some comparison to the episodes in the Day.

What I especially hate about this series/manga-adaptation, though, is the voicing. It so utterly reminds me of the FLCL style but more of forced onto it rather than flowing with the style. Inconsistent, maybe..? Most of the voicers from the first two episodes I haven’t experienced before besides Okawa Toru and Miyano Mamoru, but even so there is barely any good voicing done/the characters don’t have suitable voices (eg. Soul Eater himself has too deep and old a voice) if my ears still work the way they did before I’ve started aging. Sadly the OPs and EDs don’t make up for the weaknesses of this anime…

Moving on, Kure-nai has decent animation, interesting plot, but the voicing is not as well-done as I would like sometimes. This unpleasant feeling instilled is not as severe as that from Soul Eater, but animation is almost always what determines whether someone will keep up with the show despite any other ..discrepancies, is that the word? D: Humans are visual creatures after all, and is crucial in determining first impressions. Yet truly great series marry animation with plot. TTGL is one half-example (half the story and the reason behind why people watch it, appears to be illogical at times?), while One Piece is a counter-example (more of art style/design in this case though).

Not to digress too much, Kure-nai pairs an ojou-sama loli (who looks a lot like Lilo (c) Disney) and a 16-year-old mediator (who beats people up). There’s also the stalker Yayoi (I swear she follows people around randomly) and other quirky characters. Benika somewhat reminds me of someone else but I can’t really remember who. Either way the similarity is extremely tiny. Oh, and the animation studio is the same as that of Kamichu and Baccano! which is a good thing. I just don’t seem to like it as much, though. Maybe the OP had to do with it too |D I really loved Guns & Roses, it really set the mood for most of the whole series. Also with a quick peek at the manga, the art seems pretty well-done too. In quite a few ways, Kure-nai could be said to be superior to Soul Eater. But BONES makes it difficult…

Wagaya no Oinari-sama was decent with decent animation and a decent, but boring, plot (so far). Decent is average but not great. I still prefer the manga art scans though - much more appealing style, but I guess not practical as an animation.

Vampire Knight was.. slightly more interesting than I thought. Voicing is okay, but not entirely up to standard despite Horie Yui and Miyano Mamoru taking part. Animation is decent, I guess. Bishies are still recognisable as bishies and not deformed mutant androgynous characters (take Yamanade for example, maybe?) and though development is somewhat slow and the heroine is quite irritating in a sense It Is Bearable.

Kanokon is utter rubbish, I was skipping parts in between. The fanservice is blatant just as I’ve seen from the many scenes from To-Love-Ru and Rosario to Vampire, this time the girl is a slutty fox with huegass magical powers.

To demonstrate the amount of fanservice without pushing it too far, almost every image of kanokon you search for is something like this:

I should get to watching Geass soon. Really. And G00 too, or at least one of the freaking Gundam series. I feel underexposed in such genres of anime. And for Toshokan Sensou it was quite freaky, I had trouble deciding on whether the heroine was a girl or guy at first. It took the voice in the trailer to give it away.

As for Jdrama I hear Zettai Kareshi is out already but not subbed. Agwell. I’m surviving on Sapuri at the moment.. the storyline’s quite okay but some parts are a bit iffy..?

ps. While I’ve finished all the movies incl. SAC and Innocence, GitS is becoming a live-action movie (along with the likes of Dragonball and what-else-have-you), and the technology is going IRL too. I have noticed the Dashboard has got a new interface since quite a while ago. Writing space still pathetically tiny though slightly improved.

I am fully aware that I have not been updating here, nor posting at dA, nor anywhere else in the intarwebz for a long long time. I mean, heck, this is my first April post. What a drastic decline since the holidays last year.
It’s not likely that you’ll be seeing me post very often from now on, sad (or not) to say.. exams coming up, and I have bad time management. Care to share any of your tips to cope with alarmingly high [stress-levels-which-force-you-to-stay-up-to-2am-to-finish-work] with me? Sigh. Woe is to the life of one who plays a sad role in this vast stage of a world.

Note: This post’s images theme is Minami-ke, as you can see, even if I haven’t vaguely gotten hooked on it nor did I finish up the whole first series. Why Minami-ke? Beats me. (Speaking of beating, I baked a cake the day before! Hurrah.)

Oh speaking of sad roles and the sort (even though this may have no link whatsoever, bear with me since I’m not logical half the time so if you can’t stand me and my rantings scoot away now. Now.), I’ve started reading Quirkology by Richard Wiseman and I find it quite fascinating. I must say quite a bit of it is that it actually keeps me engaged and I go WTF sometimes but |D that’s not the point here is it. The more suitable thing to say is that the content is delightfully interesting and Quirky (capital q plox).

The book basically uncovers the results of many quirky but not-so-meaningful experiments on everyday human behaviour and psychology that I am painfully unaware of most of the time, and has effectively enlightened me on the less purposeful yet more Hey-That’s-Interesting aspects of human behaviour. For example, I’ve always been hearing about how others say scientists are saying astro is rubbish, but I never quite came across the actual experiments conducted to conclude it as such XD More than just Quite Interesting, I would say. Of course I always get this half-urge to place this book right in Stacey’s face and say See, Astro’s all sorts of crap just for a cheap thrill, but then again I value my life very much Thank You.

Oh and I was wondering if anyone actually clicks the Streamed Videos ie. YouTube links. Most of the clicks seem to be for images :D Either way I don’t find this a terribly important thing, just that I’d like to state that I do update them and add links every once in a while when I stumble across very nice/funny/useful/interesting sites or videos. Then again maybe I should be getting a del.icio.us account sometime soon, since the whole list is getting a tad too long. orz I should learn to synthesise information properly.

Otomen 2 English finally came out. Sirane bought it lol and when I ask her if she wants to buy my Otomen 1 English or sell her Otomen 2 (which she cannot stand because of the colour and the… content-which-is-shoujo-ish, yet still insists on keeping) she kinda doesn’t answer. She owes me Bio pics too. CHE LAI LE.

Art Stuff: Mangaka? No way in hell for me since I’m not able to invent creative ideas and put them down on paper. Especially since this year’s theme is Astro stuff (zodiac, horoscope etc.), and I just read how rubbishy horoscopes are |D /Kidding anyway if I really do finish a piece for Mangaka I’d be quite freaking surprised at myself. No Kidding there.

RS on gits still going on and I herd sum ov us iz rigreet eet. Psychology always seems more interesting than Philosophy now that I think about it dammit. Seeya around another time, when I have time at all.

Firstly, I’ve been watching (and reading) a lot more mecha/sci-fi these days;

Ghost in the Shell, GitS 2: Innocence, Evangelion 1.0, and the novel I, Robot by Isaac Asimov, positronic rays and all. Halfway through GitS: Individual Eleven. I also completed Sweeney Todd, though not yet Battle Royale :\ And just today, I finished up Soredemo, Boku wa Yattenai aka I Didn’t Do It (live-action courtcase Jmovie).

The former few are all pretty much ‘classics’ that everyone should have heard of or whatchamacallit, I know. Frankly they’re all highly fascinating, just not quite so in the case of Eva (yet?).. Shinji isn’t that likeable, and neither is Rei, it seems. Or maybe I was being too skeptical when I was watching the movie. No signs of ‘ANTA BAKA?!’ :c

Planning to watch the rest of the Eva Rebuild movies series and GitS movies. Not much time for actual episodal series except other weekly series I do continue to catch up on such as Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (ep 7 is quite interesting, I must say). I haven’t been having time enough to catch up on series that I have a loooooot to catch up on, such as Reborn! anime, or plain rubbishy (for the moment at the very least) anime such as Naruto and Bleach. Shugo Chara falls into both these categories in a sense :\ no matter how cool nekomimi are, it just doesn’t have much priority now. And as much as I love One Piece for the comedy sometimes I just don’t find myself placing it on the higher priority lists just because firstly no one uploads it to CR (fastest streaming site around town, I’d say) and also because it’s more about friendship, comedy and plot-weaving to me. Maybe I’ve been affected by Spore’s culture a tad too much, but ‘it just isn’t as thought-provoking’ is starting to = ‘not as important’? Nevertheless One Piece is love c:

I’m also planning to watch Vexille, Appleseed, Heavenly Forest, Sono Toki wa Kare ni Yoroshiku, Udon, Waters etc. If I Have Time.

Just fyi, part of why I need to watch GitS so badly (besides out of pure interest) is that I’m using it for a project, but that’s just not the point here right now.

In the aspect of Art, I am proud to say I have finished colouring the previous grayscale piece I uploaded :3 Also uploaded on dA here. As usual no stealing plox but yeah I don’t really expect anyone to do so since it’s so crappily done (I totally half-assedly coloured and drew the hair, as you can see it’s way too thin near her neck) and the pose is so simplistic I kind of feel sorry that this is all I can do with a tablet, a PC and Photoshop (ohyeah check out Photoshop Express [Beta for the moment] for those who don’t happen to own a copy of PS)

Uh, and I need Photoshop + Art lessons, if you couldn’t already tell, because I had no idea at all how I should have done the hairshine and I had no idea what to do with the background D: (being the loser that I am, that is). I also had no idea whatsoever how to make the whole thing more interesting - to my ability that is. Sigh.

However on the other hand I am quite surprised that I found a nice shade of skintone! Really, usually I can’t find the right shade. Also I’ve abused the Multiply Blending mode quite a bit >__< Hopefully, it’s done its job to look better :D

Anyway, I’ve also been catching up on Jdrama series like Hanayome to Papa aka The Bride and Papa and as usual I still watch the Honey and Clover Jdrama. Hanayome to Papa is really amusing because of its wonderful actors and the storyline many can relate to , I would think (since it’s about Family), while Honey and Clover is slice-of-life with interesting dynamics. Then again I’m not an accurate judge since I am Not A Literature Student. Rather I used to be, but it just doesn’t happen to be something I’m good at.

Ishihara Satomi (female) plays the happy-go-lucky 20-year-old daughter of an overbearing father played by Tokito Saburo (refer to previous picture please). Despite her age, and working, she is forced to keep to a curfew of 7pm, no relationships with the opposite sex allowed, etc. and her only way out of it is to marry out of the house, to a colleague played by Taguchi Junnosuke from KAT-TUN (male, duh). Che, that KAT-TUN member seems to be acting all pretty-boy in that picture.

There are also other series I have downloaded/plan to watch, such as Kimi Hannin Jyanai yo ne?, Puzzle, Zettai Kareshi coming up as well as Sapuri - I have the entire series on my drive but I haven’t got the time to watch even one episode.

Anyone know any good Jdramas?

I also need to actually get around to using my PS3. After all I do have DMC4. Just no time. NOTIEM, you hear? agh and the graphics are so cool, too.

On another more serious note, I need to learn to be more serious about my studies.

まず、 ……

今年はこんなに忙しくなるとは思わなかった。

なんだか残念だと思う。だって、結局新しいアニメや映画などが出ていて、そして絵を描くのをもっと上手になりたいんです。日本語はも大事なことだけど、ストレスばかりだし、週二日に六時まででも帰らないし、大変なんだ。

時間がなくて、いろいろなすきとかしたいことはできなくなったもんね。つまり、宿題以外の先生がよく「余計なこと」というのは暇なときがなくてする時間がない。私、かわいそうな人間なんだね。本を読むのや絵を描くのやステップマニアを遊ぶのや運動をするなどはあまりしなくなった。
