Firstly, I’ve been watching (and reading) a lot more mecha/sci-fi these days;
Ghost in the Shell, GitS 2: Innocence, Evangelion 1.0, and the novel I, Robot by Isaac Asimov, positronic rays and all. Halfway through GitS: Individual Eleven. I also completed Sweeney Todd, though not yet Battle Royale :\ And just today, I finished up Soredemo, Boku wa Yattenai aka I Didn’t Do It (live-action courtcase Jmovie).
The former few are all pretty much ‘classics’ that everyone should have heard of or whatchamacallit, I know. Frankly they’re all highly fascinating, just not quite so in the case of Eva (yet?).. Shinji isn’t that likeable, and neither is Rei, it seems. Or maybe I was being too skeptical when I was watching the movie. No signs of ‘ANTA BAKA?!’ :c
Planning to watch the rest of the Eva Rebuild movies series and GitS movies. Not much time for actual episodal series except other weekly series I do continue to catch up on such as Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (ep 7 is quite interesting, I must say). I haven’t been having time enough to catch up on series that I have a loooooot to catch up on, such as Reborn! anime, or plain rubbishy (for the moment at the very least) anime such as Naruto and Bleach. Shugo Chara falls into both these categories in a sense :\ no matter how cool nekomimi are, it just doesn’t have much priority now. And as much as I love One Piece for the comedy sometimes I just don’t find myself placing it on the higher priority lists just because firstly no one uploads it to CR (fastest streaming site around town, I’d say) and also because it’s more about friendship, comedy and plot-weaving to me. Maybe I’ve been affected by Spore’s culture a tad too much, but ‘it just isn’t as thought-provoking’ is starting to = ‘not as important’? Nevertheless One Piece is love c:
I’m also planning to watch Vexille, Appleseed, Heavenly Forest, Sono Toki wa Kare ni Yoroshiku, Udon, Waters etc. If I Have Time.
Just fyi, part of why I need to watch GitS so badly (besides out of pure interest) is that I’m using it for a project, but that’s just not the point here right now.

In the aspect of Art, I am proud to say I have finished colouring the previous grayscale piece I uploaded :3 Also uploaded on dA here. As usual no stealing plox but yeah I don’t really expect anyone to do so since it’s so crappily done (I totally half-assedly coloured and drew the hair, as you can see it’s way too thin near her neck) and the pose is so simplistic I kind of feel sorry that this is all I can do with a tablet, a PC and Photoshop (ohyeah check out Photoshop Express [Beta for the moment] for those who don’t happen to own a copy of PS)
Uh, and I need Photoshop + Art lessons, if you couldn’t already tell, because I had no idea at all how I should have done the hairshine and I had no idea what to do with the background D: (being the loser that I am, that is). I also had no idea whatsoever how to make the whole thing more interesting - to my ability that is. Sigh.
However on the other hand I am quite surprised that I found a nice shade of skintone! Really, usually I can’t find the right shade. Also I’ve abused the Multiply Blending mode quite a bit >__< Hopefully, it’s done its job to look better :D

(As you can see I’m starting to find partitions very convenient.) Anyway, I’ve also been catching up on Jdrama series like Hanayome to Papa aka The Bride and Papa and as usual I still watch the Honey and Clover Jdrama. Hanayome to Papa is really amusing because of its wonderful actors and the storyline many can relate to , I would think (since it’s about Family), while Honey and Clover is slice-of-life with interesting dynamics. Then again I’m not an accurate judge since I am Not A Literature Student. Rather I used to be, but it just doesn’t happen to be something I’m good at.
Just a little bit of synopsis and picspam for Hanayome to Papa:
Ishihara Satomi (female) plays the happy-go-lucky 20-year-old daughter of an overbearing father played by Tokito Saburo (refer to previous picture please). Despite her age, and working, she is forced to keep to a curfew of 7pm, no relationships with the opposite sex allowed, etc. and her only way out of it is to marry out of the house, to a colleague played by Taguchi Junnosuke from KAT-TUN (male, duh). Che, that KAT-TUN member seems to be acting all pretty-boy in that picture.
There are also other series I have downloaded/plan to watch, such as Kimi Hannin Jyanai yo ne?, Puzzle, Zettai Kareshi coming up as well as Sapuri - I have the entire series on my drive but I haven’t got the time to watch even one episode.
Anyone know any good Jdramas?

I also need to actually get around to using my PS3. After all I do have DMC4. Just no time. NOTIEM, you hear? agh and the graphics are so cool, too.
On another more serious note, I need to learn to be more serious about my studies.
Then again, screw it all, where has my Spring of Youth gone? School’s killed it all orz

ZOMG YOU HAVE PS3!!!!!!!! *pwned*
if you can’t guess who am I from the ‘name’..well, I’m no stalker :P
Anyway,the colouring’s not bad what?? I take art and can’t draw manga for nuts sake D: not that I practice often but…
*coughs* have you read zettai kareshi manga before? it’s so perv and I can’t believe they are making a drama for it :D;;;
Good J-drama… ever watch RH Plus?? :D;;
@ChrisV:
Yep I can pretty much tell :3 Sigh I’m a lousy gamer and not much time to play DX
…Er technically if you ask me, Manga is just about half an art, and I say that because it’s just lines and colour (and texture?) and not necessarily ‘artistic’, so it’s kind of sad in that sense.
Anyway that’s not the point here. I need to learn to texture OTL and-and I need to get creative with poses and I’m lazy to practice my crappy Perspective, lol. Also my 3D art is not very good, and I need Photoshop lessons since I have no idea how to use anything but the basic things to transform (for correction), line, colour and erase.
*cough* Yes, I finished Zettai Kareshi manga in one day. Ahaha, perv it may be, but it’s traditional Funny with a capital F :D Dorm 2 Leader from Hana Kimi is acting as the megane-guy (childhood friend) hahaha
Never heard of RH Plus D: I’ll see if I can check it out somewhere ._. Thanks :D
lol.be happy you have a freaking PS3!!! geez no one have to to play games nowadays, I tried playing FFVII DoC the other day, and my fingers are so stiff I can’t do headshot like last time *cries*
Haha. There’s quite a lot of tutorials for photoshop on the net. Though, the best way is messing with it yourself, it’s quite fun actually. My skill’s not good either, but lately I’ve been obsessed with creating banners and icons…
*coughs* Anyway, practice make perfect, so just keep trying~!! [and that goes for the photoshop too]<-cheesy, woes .__.;;
Ooh..really?? who’s playing as Night?? XD
Actually I haven’t got around to watch RH Plus too… I heard from some of my friends and they said it’s damn hilarious ;D
@ChrisV:
I don’t know what to do with DMC4 since I keep dying on the first sekrit mission and I don’t have much time OTL.. I’m really bad at games, generally. Though I love to watch people pwning them ahahha.
Correction: Practice definitely makes progress, and probably excellence for the more talented. orz
Hm, Night was some random guy whom I have never seen acting before, but it’s probably just me D:
RH Plus… I haven’t checked up on it yet >_>
i agree, be happy you have a PS3 AND TELL SEEMIIN THAT TOO D: honestly my only gaming console is like, COMP. No time as well, anyway. And yay for scifi! i just introduced my friend to Ender’s Game the other day hee :D and my senior got pissed when she realised that Ender died in Children Of the Mind. Ah well.
@zhiting:
Yay for Sci-fi, except when I can’t comprehend anything at all, since after all I’m quite slow.
Ender’s Game…Well what did she think, that he would live forever?
(Well in a sense he does, since he fused and whatnot, just into a different body, but…)Ahwell I loved the series. Any good Sci-fi novels (that are hopefully not too complex) you happen to know of?Hairshine? Just use the dodge tool, hon. >u< b
Argh I can’t get through the first 10 minutes of the original film of GiTs.
@Jazzu:
Hairshine, as is with any other colouring, can be made to look better if you know what colour is more vibrant than when you use the dodge tool, I know for a fact. Agh you know what colours to use while I don’t - take that pastel ‘practice(?)’ for example. CHE.
And hurry yer __ up and finish it off already, we DO need to meet him soon to discuss and if you two don’t know much it’s gonna be a problem. Or do you really need me to lug my external HDD over and lend it to you both with GitS movies in it?! I do have lots of other stuff in there that’s quite important…quite…
People say Dune is good, but i’ve never read it (by Frank Herbert)
Spy High by A.J. Butcher has totally cool gadgets and everything, but not enough characterisation in the novels ): Still, it’s cool if you need scifi ideas.
Tattoo by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (she’s only 18, genius >_>) is less scifi and more adventure but it’s super nice :D
And House of Leaves (Mark Danielewski), I’m only getting it on my birthday, but even Lilian gave up reading it because it was too mind-boggling a concept >_<
